Most times it's not too bad. Wy usually gets a few scrapes from branches and briars is the grass, and as such he is usually covered in band-aids when done....as you know 5 year olds LOVE band-aids for any reason. Dawson usually does pretty good. Until this last time.
There is a HUGE pine that he just had to climb. It all went well, or so we thought. A few days later I noticed he was breaking out on his face, arms, neck, chest.....turns out...
Poison Oak. Poor kid. He no longer wants to climb trees.
Just goes to show you that the vine can not have leaves on it but still pass on all it's itchy goodness.

Hi Colleen.........."Poor Guy",
Our boys never had problems with poison oak, but our girl sure suffered with it. She would even get it off the dog and her Dads work close....bad stuff.
I used that Desitin diaper rash cream, looks terrible, smells terrible but works great. Hope he's better soon.
Hi Colleen, I named you for the "Stylish Blogger Award" have a nice weekend.
Nice pictures! I remember climbing trees, all day long sometimes ... wish I was still as brave as your boys :-)
Sorry to hear about the poison oak.
Poor kiddo! I started to itch just reading this.
I was a tree climber as a kid. We had two nice trees in our front yard. One time I got up pretty high and then didn't have the nerve to come down...my mom had to talk me down...lol
Now that brings back memories.:-)
Itchy "goodness".....lol! Maybe more like evilness!
Your boys are the cutest! And the tree climbing photos are amazing!
Jax and Jem used to love climbing trees, too, but we have mostly junipers around here and they are basically overgrown shrubs. Jem climbed one a few years ago, the branch broke and he fell.....snagging the skin above his nipple and ripping it open. Required stitches, needles and an ER visit.
Good thing he is a boy, because it did cause nerve damage to the nipple.
