Bloomers!

Was out last evening taking shots of the blooming trees and plants.  A few I came across I have no idea what they are, but they sure are pretty.

Gathering For Winter

I came across this little guy gathering all he could from the fall flowers blooming in my MIL's yard.  I love to see such flowers amongst all the changing colors of the leaves.

Crepe Myrtle

One of my favorite things about Summer is the blooming of the Crepe Myrtle trees.  They come in such a variety of shades, from white to deep purple.  They grow quite easily here in NC and I have the pleasure of seeing all the many colors along my drives in the area.  My DH's grandma's place only has this one, a pretty pink, and I love to get shots of the little buds before blooming, during and after.

I've thought of stopping along my drive to take a few of the other colors but am not sure how strangers would feel to see me trekking through their yards....I do live in the country after all....

Sunflowers

I've been pretty lax lately in my photography.  I've been a little overwhelmed with all the preparations for surgery, along with trying to keep two boys from killing one another over the summer...Today I decided to change that.

There is a little family garden along the side of the road that I've been passing on my way to and from work and I've wanted to stop.  Today I made a special trip.

They always have a bunch of different sunflowers and for some reason they just make me happy.  I braved the bees, of which there were lots, and walked among the giant stalks.

I took more than is posted here so if you want to see the rest just click on a pic and it will take you to my Flickr page.....have a great day!

Cemetery In Color.....

I had my first nutrition class yesterday and it went good.  It wasn't anything that I didn't know already but that was fine, it's one step closer to being done with the program.  I have a support group meeting tonight and two more classes next week...

As promised here are some color pics of the flowers near the cemetery.  I'm not sure what they are, but they are growing all over the highways here in NC.  The last pic is the same one I put up on Sunday Stills, just not photoshopped.  For those interested I used the PW action Heartland on it.

Have a great Tuesday!

Foxglove

I haven't been able to post pics lately as I have been having trouble accessing my Flickr account.  I have finally managed to get it straightened out and was out clicking away yesterday.  I found these beautiful foxgloves blooming at my MIL's place.

Another Casualty

It seems like the butterfly population around here needs to find a new place to eat.  This is the second one we have found with damaged wings.  It seems that Jeff likes to catch them as they fly around the yard.  Wy found this one too and after carrying it around he left if perched on my Iris'.

don't know what type of weed it is
but it sure was a pretty yellow.
added an old "newsprint" action
to give it some character.

Wednesday Morning.

It's been a couple days or so since I posted. My family was here this weekend for the holiday and let me tell you, I had the most fun I've had in a long time. My boys got to go camping for the first time, which they loved. We went to the lake to do some Sea-dooing then off to the river to float and wade with the boys while DH went fishing. Fireworks, family, fabulous food all add up to a wonderful time. This morning I noticed a few additions to the flower garden. Some lovely bees and bugs on the blooms. My Tenor Phlox finally decided to grow, last year it decided not to, and Molly was enjoying a cool morning nap after a full belly from breakfast. I figured I'd share. Enjoy.
I have no clue what this is
it was growing along the side of the road

Spring Iris...

I seem to be obsessed lately with getting
pics of flowers with rain drops.
Maybe it's finding beauty in an otherwise
dreary day.
Enjoy

Spring?

Woke up today to blowing wind, snow, and temps in the 20's, with highs only in the 30's. Why couldn't we get this kind of weather in Winter? I was just getting used to the idea of Spring when we get snow. Oh well....it sure is pretty though.
I sure hope my tulips survive the cold.
