Sunday Stills....Portraits

This weeks challenge is portraits...Now I am by no means a professional but I  do take my kids school portraits every year.  I just like them better than the generic ones they do. 

Now I have a tween who always manages to have that goofy not smile smile on his face everytime he sees a camera so it takes a bit of work to get him to look as I see him.  This one isn't too bad, he's more relaxed and not quite bored with the pic taking yet.

  


  I like this one as it was very spontaneous.  I was trying to get the boys when hubby popped into it.  True smiles, as you can see it in their eyes.    I also like to get one close up of the boys, it doesn't matter to me that it's not completely centered or that the tops of the heads are missing.  It's all about the eyes.   My first wedding.  It was a stressful time trying to do right by the family, my SIL was the bride.    again, one upclose   a more relaxed one taken in the church after the ceremony, before all the craziness started.  One of my favorite subjects Tess..I've gotten to do pics of her for the last couple of years. She's a friends daughter.  I like to just let her do her thing.  When they are little it's hard to get them to sit for you.  We give her things to play with and just see where it goes.        

I look forward to getting the opportunity to do more portrait sessions.  After all practice is the best way to get better.

Sunday Stills: The Foreground

I'm back! I've been spending a lot of time on myself this last year and am near the end of my weight loss journey and on to the long walk of keeping it off. My photography has suffered a bit but I'm making it more of a priority now.  I hope this qualifies for the assignment.

   

Sunday Stills....T.V. Shows or Movies

I have a plethora of shows that I watch, much to my husbands dismay.  I will say that my favorite type is drama, as my pic shows, but I also like Survivor, Amazing Race, will die if I miss my nerds on The Big Bang Theory, and am subjected to a multitude of cartoons because of the boys.

If the rest of you are like me you're sick of Winter.  We have had our fair share of snow and I personally am over it.

This weeks challenge is the letter "w"....I chose Winter Weather...it seems we have had a lot so far and are supposed to get more over the next few days....I personally am sick of it as I get stuck in the house and can't go anywhere.  Cabin fever sets in rather quickly for me and the boys.

It's so hard to choose a "best" shot....I picked a couple that I like for a few different reasons....

Sunday Stills....Pets

This weeks challenge is Pets.  I currently have 4 cats, two inside and two outside.  The "girls" are indoor and are sometimes hard to get pics of cause they are sleeping under covers this winter.  The "boys" outside are a bit more available.

This morning we woke up to some snow!  So out I went with camera in tow.  Jeffery was the only one around and as he will follow you like a dog off we went to get some pics.  He is just the friendliest boy!

Sunday Stills....Potluck

This weeks challenge was to post anything we find interesting.  My boys found these very much so and decided they wanted to fill up their pockets and bring home as many as they could.  A feast fit for a squirrel.

Sunday Stills...Red and Green

"A little explanation of this challenge, the picture or pictures must have both the colors red and green in the same pic. This will take a bit of imagination and a staged picture and once again no Archives so christmas pics from last year don’t count..;-)"

So said Ed.  I didn't have too much trouble getting both red and green without a staged shot, I just relied on nature.  These Burning Bushes are starting to turn for fall.  Always beautiful.

This weeks challenge was to take a pic of something and have it "framed".  I got a good opportunity when little man jumped in the bed of the truck and was peeking at me through the porch pickets.

You'd never know by such an innocent face how much trouble this little boy can find...

Sunday Stills....Potluck....Mustangs

This weeks challenge was pretty much left up to us....go out and shoot something interesting and fun.

 

Well I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the BLM Adoption in Asheville.  So I figure it qualifies!

 

They had roughly 80 horses up for adoption.  I would love to have been able to take one or two home, but alas I have no place for them.  Maybe one of these days.

Sunday Stills....Hands

"Hands" are the challenge this week.  All I had to do was bring my camera to work and snap a few of the girls doing their magic upon clients. Suprisingly they didn't think me too strange for standing around taking shots of them working.

Sunday Stills.....Easter

This weeks challenge is Easter....for me it's all about the Eggs.  I love to dye them and did it even when single.  Thankfully I need not be so pathetic the last few years as now with the kids I have a good excuse to participate.  I have never been good at it and not one egg has ever looked like it does on the package, but fun is had anyway.
