My First Portraits....Input Wanted

I took the boys out to take their portraits as we haven't done it in a while. I am still learning my new camera and am wanting any input you guys out there have for me. Thanks.

I think they are great! When I get my good camera, I'll have to take family photo's more often!

5,6,7,8....and the last three are my favorites. You are the best one to take their portraits as you know them the best and can capture their spirits and true natures in your photography.

It looks like you nailed it, too. Your boys look so comfortable and natural. Outside photos are the best for kids because they feel the most 'at home'.

Good job!

These are great shots, obviously taken by someone who knows them. The best way! The only thing I noticed was that they seem a little "cool" or maybe just a hair dark/dim/blue... Just a novice opinion so don't put too much stock in it! :-)

Love the big up close faces one, it's framed nicely and they look so happy!

Hi Colleen,
Even though I can't recall what I commented before, I think the best kid portraits are, when they are natural infront of the camera. Otherwise they should know what they are doing!
You did a great job in here :D They are all nice shots :D
Your younger son is so natural, and all his expressions are so cute! But your elder son is a bit aware of the camera around him. Is he a bit shy? But he is very nice when he is natural :D The best shots are 1,2,6,8,9,10,11,12 Came off real good! Great job!

By Golly, I do believe you got it! I love them, especially as you could see the boys were feeling comfortable with the camera on them. Good job!
