Historic Biltimore House...The Walled Garden

The Biltmore has lots of different gardens. This is the Walled Garden, they also have the Shrub Garden, Spring Garden, Azalea Garden and much more. The Walled Garden has a variety of annuals that are planted throughout the blooming season so that they have flowers pretty much until winter. This is also were they have lots and lots of roses. Now I didn't think at the time to take a picture of the plaque that told me what species of rose it was so that I could identify them for you. I guess you'll just have to enjoy the pictures.
This is the stairway to the Walled Garden.
One of my favorite flowers.
Plants are literally everywhere.
So many different types that it's
amazing to see.
A poppy. If you look closely to the
right of it you can see
a little bee's butt!
An arbor in the middle had these beautiful vines
growing all over it.
The newly planted garden.
The building in the background is the Conservatory.
It contains green houses with lots of beautiful
flowers. I'll post pics from it tomorrow.
Overview of the garden
My DH in the rose garden....
wish he'd bring me some.
One of the gates leading into the
garden from the road.
I hope you enjoyed your trip through the Walled Garden. I couldn't possibly do it justice. It was both amazing and awe inspiring to see all the different flowers. I could of spent all day there just taking pictures.
Tomorrow....The green houses.

Beautiful photos. I want to walk right under that archway to the gardens!
I bet they have many rare heritage roses, too.
