The Garden Of Eden.....is on Needmore

Sunday....A day for family fun. We had breakfast, decided we would go to Walmart to get clothes for Wy for the winter. Came home, had lunch, then decided I would go with the big boys to the river to do some fishing and wading. What a beautiful place. Sitting in the middle of the river with Wy, skipping rocks (for the first time I was pretty good) and soaking up the sun ( remind me to use sunblock next time...ouch). After a while we went to where Ron and Dawson were fishing and we played some. Wyatt got brave and let me help him float on his back, he also likes to fish. Which for him means tossing the bait in the water over and over again. After a while of this I was sitting on the rock watching Dawson float on his back (you'll be glad to know he did it for as long as 27 seconds, a personal best for him). I was thinking how I would love to have a chair in the middle of the river, book in hand, camera as well, some beautiful pictures could be had here. A Garden of Eden right here on Needmore. Who would have thought. And what did the Garden of Eden have? Yep. One of those things Dar hates so much. Snake. Floating in the water, head out looking at....Dawson. Only about a foot from him. I don't know how I managed to see it, or what caught my attention, but it's one of the only times Dawson did exactly what I said when I said it. As soon as he moved it dove under water and swam away. Thank goodness. I was pretty calm considering. Needless to say, our day was pretty much done at that point. I looked it up when we got home and it appears to be a Eastern Kingsnake. Harmless. But I'm taking no chances. Will keep a lookout when on the river from now on. Dinner was tacos and then bed for the boys at 8. Ron and I watched Bill Engvall on the Comedy channel. I thought we were going to laugh ourselves stupid. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. Or had such a family sunday. Mostly getting along, only a few minor scraps with the boys and all was well. A great day.
