Well I had my six week checkup with my surgeon an all is well. He is quite happy with my weight loss so far and I have been cleared to eat normal stuff. I've had it pretty easy so far. I have not had any problems with anything that I have tried. I generally eat 3 times a day with maybe a snack of cheese and a protein drink in the morning.
I am going out to dinner with the girls from work on Saturday, my first time at a restaurant since surgery. It's a new Italian place in town and they have a pretty extensive menu so I believe I'll be able to find something.
I have lost a total of 59 pounds. I went from 266.8 to currently 207.5. Not too bad I guess. I have a goal of 200 by Christmas and I'm closer than I thought I would be. I have started walking 3 miles a day on the treadmill and that has helped alot.
School has been out all week due to snow and ice. I tried this morning to go to work and got about a mile down the road and decided it wasn't worth it. My car was sliding all over the place, 40 miles of that is just too much on these mountain roads. I just turned around and came back home, at least I did, not my car. The hill to our house was way too slushy so I parked down at the firestation and decided to walk, it's about a 1/4 mile. I was promptly picked up by a nice guy who works next to the firestation. He figured I'd end up getting hit by a car so he came to see me safely home. For those worried about being picked up by strangers, he wasn't, he knows my hubby very well, and I've met him on occassion. Safety first.
All things considered it's been good all around.
